End of Life Act! v16

As with all good things, they must come to an end. And so it is that Act! version 16 reaches the end of its life as of 30th September 2016. Upgrade now and you will save up to 26%!

Act! version 16 was the first release from Swiftpage after they took over the reins from Sage Business Solutions in 2014. Since then Swiftpage have invested a lot of time and money developing Act! and consequently introduced a lot of fantastic new features and updates now available in the latest version, 18.2. In accordance with their Obsolescence Policy, Swiftpage will no longer be delivering service packs, hot fixes or compatibility updates for Act! v16. Also, users will not be able to purchase additional licences of Act! v16 or be eligible for upgrade pricing to the latest version after September 30.

Ongoing Support

While Swiftpage’s technical support for Act! v16 will cease after 30th November 2016, Act Today will continue to provide ongoing support as we do with all versions of Act! (costs may apply).

Stay compatible

We highly recommend keeping Act! up to date to ensure that it is always compatible with the latest operating/desktop systems and operating at peak performance. If you purchase new PC’s with Windows 10 and Office 2016, you will need v18 as it’s the only version that officially supports these products. This may be an expense you are not expecting after spending money on new hardware/software.

Save on upgrade costs

Upgrade to v18 prior to 30th September 2016, and save up to 26% on licence costs. After September, users on versions 16 and older will need to pay full price. So if you think that you will be upgrading other software/hardware or increasing Act! users in the next 12 months, we strongly recommend that you purchase your upgrade before the end of September.

Don’t want to upgrade?

If you are currently using Act! v16 and don’t want to upgrade based on budget, lack of need, or older IT infrastructure, it’s still advisable to consider any future requirement for additional licences to support team growth. All of your Act! users need to be using the same version therefore adding one new user after September will mean upgrading all of your licences – at the higher price!
